RetroVision #5 Coming in #5: Season four of Highlander: The Series, the James Bond thrillers Thunderball and You Only Live Twice, and Westworld. For issue #5, RetroVision has hired artist Monte Moore to come up with a concept that captures both the "Star Trek" and "Star Wars" universes. These photos demonstrate that painting coming to life, joining for the first time Captain Kirk, Han Solo, Boba Fett and Khan. The final photo is of the artist himself with the work in progress. Look for more of Monte's work in upcoming RetroVision specials. RetroVision #5 A Salute to Star Trek & Star Wars
Beginning September 1st, the original Star Trek will air exclusively on The Sci-Fi Channel. Digitally remastered, these episodes will air in 90-minute segments featuring all of the scenes that have been cut out over the years during the shows syndicated run, and they will be hosted by William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy, with commentaries from many members of the shows cast. To celebrate, RetroVision #5 features a 40,000 word retrospective on the original series. Interviews with cast members, writers, directors, guest stars and special effects technicians take readers from Gene Roddenberrys original conception for the show through its final days. Plus, take a first look at William Shatners new film, Free Enterprise. Additionally, as the days grow closer to the release of Star Wars: Episode One, this issue of RetroVision reprints the classic George Lucas/Rolling Stone interview from 1977, which, at about 12,000 words, is the longest interview Lucas has ever granted regarding his unique universe. Finally, for Highlander fans, there are one-on-one interviews with Adrian Paul (Duncan MacLeod), Peter Wingfield (Methos) and an exclusive interview with Elizabeth Gracen, star of the fall-debuting, Highlander: The Raven.
Note: The first 300 people to order RetroVision #5 received a free cover print of Monte Moores stunning rendition of the Star Trek and Star Wars universes, featuring Captain James T. Kirk, Han Solo, Boba Fett and Khan Noonian Singh.
